The only hindrance to video walls being commonplace is that when one component fails the whole wall fails. Traditionally when one screen fails the whole structure had to be dismantled and then reassembled. This is no longer necessary as the assembly is a complete screen management solution.
Individual screens and components can be accessed and replaced at will. The increased ability to maintain the video walls decreases downtime increasing return on investment.
Below is a 2X3 freestanding wall on the floor of the JSE, courtesy of Aptronics, it took them less than a morning from start to plug and play. Now that is something worth having a look at.
The screen at Monte Casino can only be accessed from a cherry picker and to complicate things the massive walls are enclosed. The only way in is from the front.
