Hello All

The world has arrived in South Africa and we’ve welcomed them with typical South African Hospitality! Starting with the Vuvuzela Moment at midday on 9th June through to the stirring opening ceremony of the tournament and the kickoff of the opening game at Soccer City, there can be no doubt that South Africa has put its best foot forward, and we’re proud to trumpet our successes for everyone to see! My son is crazy about soccer so you can imagine how chuffed he was to have his picture taken with the World Cup Trophy- every little soccer player’s dream come true!

With The World Cup trophy

South Africans all over the world were glued to their TVs yesterday afternoon for the duration of the game between Bafana Bafana and France, holding their breath and supporting the national team. Although we played with heart and won the game, sadly we’re not through to the next round of the tournament.
Despite not making it to the next round, last night’s victory had all South Africans celebrating the victory over Le Bleu to the glorious sound of trumpeting vuvuzelas, well done guys, you’ve made us proud! Speaking of blowing trumpets, this month Howlo has a lot to celebrate and be proud of, so instead of blowing vuvuzelas, we’re blowing our own trumpet in this newsletter! We announce our first competition winner, launch some awesome technology on our website and go behind the cameras at M-Net. Without further ado, let’s kick off, shall we?

Get The Big Picture

Entries for our newsletter subscriber competition closed on May 30th and we were swamped with entries from people keen to get their hands on the awesome prize that was up for grabs.

A thrilled Mr S. from North-West Province was the lucky winner of the Samsung HD-TV and Wall Mount Bracket worth R20 000.

Although the Royal Bafokeng Stadium is on his doorstep, he’ll be watching the games on his impressive new 40” Samsung flat screen TV from the comfort of his living room. Hearty congratulations to Mr S from all of us at Howlo.
We’ll have more on Mr S and how his business uses Howlo’s products to make their business shine in next month’s newsletter.

Hang On, It's Magic

Unit1 - M-Net's main outside broadcast vehicle. Fitted with Howlo's mounts

For years M-Net has been synonymous with cutting edge broadcasting. Their reporters and broadcast vehicles have captured history in the making. From international sporting events to breaking news, they’ve seen it all. We have watched powerful interviews filmed in their studios and never given a second thought to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes of one of the country’s favourite channels.

When M-Net recently upgraded the production facilities in their studios and broadcast vehicles they naturally turned to industry leaders, Howlo for a world-class solution to their specialised needs. We consider ourselves to be experts at delivering customised solutions and top-class service, so despite the complexities of the project we tackled it with enthusiasm.

The broadcast studios at M-Net’s headquarters are always buzzing with live transmissions or programme editing. Each studio has no less than 10 screens that need to be mounted in an easy to use yet practical layout.

To make matters more interesting, the screens vary in size from standard 15” monitors to super-sized 42” monsters- and they all need to line up perfectly. It quickly became obvious that a standard multi-screen mount would not fit the bill and that a customised mounting solution was needed. The result of the revamp was so impressive that it even got mentioned on national radio! But don’t take our word for how awesome the studios look, take a look at the pictures!

Outside Broadcast Vehicles have to perform the same functions as a multipurpose production studio whilst being mobile and easily deployable. Often these vehicles need to drive over tricky terrain, so it’s critical that the highly specialised equipment on board doesn’t move-no matter how bumpy the ride.

Howlo has supplied and installed screen mounts for the entire fleet of M-Net’s broadcast vehicles. Each vehicle’s individual bracket solutions were designed in consultation with M-Net’s Outside Broadcast team to ensure that the equipment used to broadcast world-class entertainment is supported by world class products.

We’ve taken care of M-Net’s infrastructure so they can focus on what they do best- keep South Africa informed, entertained and glued to their seats. Howlo and M-Net, now that is Magic!

Let Your Fingers Do The Talking

South Africans LOVE the internet. More than 6 million of us regularly hop on the ‘net to catch up with friends, do research or look for information about our favourite products. At Howlo our business is about making your interactions with the digital interface as hassle free as possible - we understand that quick access to information is important to our customers- that’s why you visit our website.
To make your next visit to our website even more convenient, we have launched Live Chat functionality. “What does this mean?” you ask.
From the beginning of June, customers browsing our website can choose to have a live online chat with one of our product experts who will answer technical and product related questions in real time!

For those who prefer more traditional forms of contact, we can still be reached via email or telephone. We love to hear from our customers, so do keep in touch.
